Review tablet Bmorn V99
Purpose of purchase
We decided to present tablets to our grandmothers so that they could always be caught on Skype and that they could read our private blog easily and naturally.
Grandfathers, of course, have long mastered computers, but grandmothers are a little scared of such complex devices, and the tablet, after all, is simpler.
We decided that for our purposes some Chinese device would be quite suitable. Moreover, the reviews on them, in general, are not bad.
Selection and price
The choice fell on the MOMO11 Bird, which was immediately ordered on aliexpress.com. The purchase cost 237USD , of which:
198.99USD - the tablet itself,
20USD - charger, protective film and a simple case (for some reason, the charger is not included in the base price of the device),
23.08USD - delivery to Pattaya (we are in this time were in Thailand),
-5USD is the coupon received when registering on AliExpress.
But soon the seller unsubscribed that the manufacturer had some problems with the screens on these devices and so far they have suspended sales. Instead, the proposed Bmorn V99. According to the characteristics, he arranged for us, the price was the same as that of MOMO, and we agreed to a replacement.

Delivery
The order on the website was issued on February 28, on March 4 it was transferred to EMS, on the 8th it was already in Bangkok, and only on March 15 they brought a notice that you can pick it up at the Thailand Post central office in Pattaya.
The voids of the parcel box were filled with polystyrene foam, the box with the device itself was wrapped with 1 layer of bubble wrap. Everything arrived safe and sound, only one corner of the box was embraced a little.
Appearance and equipment
The box contained:
- a tablet,
- an HDMI cable (1.5 m),
- headphones,
- a micro USB cable type B -> USB type A,
- a micro USB adapter type B -> USB type A connector,
- a stylus,
- instructions and a warranty card in Chinese,
- a 220V charger + an adapter for "euro" (requested this in the comment on the order),
- a protective film,
- a cover.
The last 3 items are not included in the basic package and are selected separately.
Externally, the tablet looks quite normal.
Buttons and connectors
At the top there is a power button and a headphone jack.
On the right side is a menu key and a volume rocker.
At the bottom there are all the connectors (power - DC, micro USB, micro USB OTG, HDMI), a memory card slot (micro SD), the Home button, microphone holes and speakers.
On the left side is empty.
The front camera is located in the lower right corner, the rear - in the lower left (when viewed from the rear).
The case is plastic, not of very high quality: with a little twisting it crunches, even when you just hold it in your hands, it feels like it “walks” a little under your fingers. When you press with your fingers on the middle of the rear surface of the case, it easily bends and rests on the board.
The device arrived completely discharged. The turn-on time was about 35 seconds (Android 4.0.3).
Screen
The screen is bright. From any angle, the image is clearly visible.
Multi-touch 10-point.
Camera
Both cameras are poor. Here is an example of a picture obtained under artificial lighting using this tablet:
And this is using Ipad2 under the same conditions:
The image is very dark, the settings could not be improved.
Another problem occurred while trying to make a video call via Skype. The video on the tablet is displayed normally, but the opponent sees some solid pink stripes instead of the image: I
wrote to the seller about this, he said that such a problem with video communication exists when using Android 4, and if you install version 2, everything will be ok. I have not tried reinstalling it yet.
Tests
It feels like the device is working fine. Some serious brakes are not observed.
Below are the results of some tests.
Antutu benchmark:
Quadrant:
Electopia benchmark (fullscreen):
Electopia benchmark (800x480):
Battery
I did not carry out full testing. With a fairly intense load (video, music, surfing), it lasts about 8 hours.
Communications
WiFi works without problems throughout the house.
Headphones, microphone, USB connectors - everything works flawlessly.
Micro SD tried only 1Gb (the other was not at hand) - it reads and writes without problems.
Games and videos
Angry Birds do not slow down, videos also play perfectly.
Total
Pros:
- high-quality screen,
- good performance,
- availability of communication ports,
- price.
Cons:
- flimsy case,
- not working video communication in the “out of the box” version.
