- It's your turn to steer!

This material has been prepared for a long time - almost half a year. And although it is a logical continuation of the post on the Thrustmaster steering wheel , we are not talking here about any specific manipulator, but about a more advanced system for simulating various races in general.

After the release of the T500 RS review, the fate of the hands of the guys from Thrustmaster brought me together with a man named Alexander Kazmin.

“Do you want,” they say, “to see what happens if you put our steering wheel on steep racing seats?”
    - I want, of course!
    - Well then, the road to you on Moscow City Racing - everyone will show you and tell you.

I come to Bolotnaya Square, and there everything is being prepared for the upcoming races and related entertainment. I find Sasha in one of the small pavilions, and he shows me a racing chair with an embroidered GameSTUL logo, and in front of him are five TVs, a connected curling iron and Thrustmaster T500 RS - the perfect set for playing Gran Turismo. Being "inside" such a thing, you feel the notorious effect of presence not only due to the panorama from the LCD panels, but also with the whole body: the steering wheel resists and vibrates, and the body is clamped in the seat bucket, which also jerks slightly on uneven tracks. The only thing missing is the simulation of overloads during acceleration and braking. Although, if desired, and money, you can install pneumatic drives, which will swing the design. But this is a custom, not a standard order.

A couple of years ago, the guys from GameSTUL did not yet know what they would do now. Once, one of them wanted to buy a racing seat: the Internet showed that they didn’t do it in Russia, and what could be ordered from abroad was either too expensive or too shaky. While they were building the first “chair”, it became clear that there were a lot of people who wanted to buy the same, and after a couple of years they had five models of varying complexity for any purpose. Love the Spartan conditions and don’t want to overpay - well, take a miniSTUL for 4.5 kilo rubles. I want dynamics and vibration feedback or something else more confused - no one bothers to contact the guys and order a piece from them.

This transformer, for example, is called revolution. The folding structure is patented and can work both with an ordinary chair and a racing one. Who cares - please take a little more picture. (Hmm, it turns out Habrastorage cuts the size of the pictures 0_o)

An important moment for me is strength. "Chairs" are built of steel, aluminum and composites, so I safely sat in the chair. Meanwhile, I weigh about a centner :)

The most interesting thing is that recently, you can not only speculatively figure out whether you want such a chair or not, but try to sit in it yourself in a specially organized place for this. GameSTUL is not going to stop there and is trying hard to popularize the idea of advanced racing simulation. Recently in Moscow at the metro station Nagornaya in the territory of the Kant sports complex, with the support of various companies, the GoRace showroom was opened, in which you can simultaneously look at new telly sets, the design of chairs, and, of course, all kinds of steering wheels and pedals, starting from the simplest, ending with the top-end Logitech and Thrustmaster. The first time I looked there in early autumn, when the room was still being renovated, but now there is already something to test there. So I strongly advise you to pay a visit to those someone like me like to drive along virtual tracks. You can make an outing in the afternoon, or you can, as in the good old days, with a company for the night at the “computer club".

And in the bins there was a photo of an esportsman in an unfinished GoRace. Who guesses what his name is ... well done!

And here he is, but after the completion of construction.

PS The purpose of the post is not to tell all the technical details of each seat and steering wheel, but rather just to share pleasant surprise - I did not think to find such a production in Russia, to be honest :)

PPS At the request of the workers, I contacted Sasha Kazmin and found out if there was a video. It turned out that the project “I came up with” was shooting about him.
