Only a few individuals have been honored to have their own doodle from Google, such as Gregor Mendel , Alexander Calder and Lucille Ball . Today's hero of the occasion is none other than, alas, Robert "Bob" Neuss , the co-founder of the microchip , who left us . After founding Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel , he became a mentor to young engineers, thereby earning himself the name "Mayor of Silicon Valley." Go to the Google homepage and you will see its logo imprinted on the microprocessor, the birth of which was helped by Bob.
