PlayStation 3 will emulate PS2 programmatically
According to AP , Sony plans to reduce the cost of production of PlayStation 3 consoles, intended for sale in Europe, by replacing the processor, which provides compatibility with games for PS2, by its software emulation.
This step, apparently, is caused by the desire to reduce the losses that the company still suffers because of the PlayStation 3.
It should be noted that the version of the console, which is already sold in the USA and Japan, does not work well with thousands of old games, despite the presence of a chip PS2. How it will be affected by the use of emulation, Europeans will learn on March 23.
