The first alpha release of Ubuntu 12.04
On December 1, the first alpha release of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin became available.
The release is not recommended for installation, as it is at the initial stage of development. The final release is expected on April 26th.
Changes made:
- Banshee player, Tomboy note manager and gbrainy puzzle removed.
- As a music player, Rhythmbox is now used by default, but so far without a plug-in for the Ubuntu One Music Store.
- Firefox and Thunderbird have been updated to the ninth beta.
- The kernel version has been updated to 3.2.0-2.
- Ubuntu Software Center has gotten review support with a few screenshots.
