HP will make a decision on the future of WebOS within two weeks

After HP decided to abandon the further development of its entire mobile division, not much time passed. The final decision on the webOS operating system was not made; now there are various kinds of rumors about the future of this platform. Nevertheless, the HP CEO recently announced (or rather, said that the CEO is now a woman) the final date when the final decision on the fate of the mobile operating system will be made. This will happen in the next two weeks.

In an interview with one of the French publications, Meg Whiteman also said that about 600 people continue to work in the WebOS division, which further complicates the situation. The fate of the mobile webOS operating system has been hanging in the balance for several months, and now it seems that the time has really come to decide the fate of the HP mobile division once and for all.

Until a decision is made, rumors that circulated earlier will continue to circulate. In particular, there are options for the development of events such as the purchase of WebOS by companies such as Amazon or Oracle. In addition, there is the possibility that HP itself will still continue to work on its mobile OS. In any case, in two weeks it will already be clear what awaits a good, in general, project in the future. It would be very good if the project continued to develop, even if not in HP, so in another company.

It is worth recalling that for the first time this mobile OS was introduced by Palm. HP bought the company for $ 1.2 billion in the first half of last year. Many developers are sure that the platform has a future, it is only necessary to “properly prepare it”, and maybe WebOS will show itself. In any case, this is more than a real competitor to existing products on the mobile OS market.
