Lost your Android device? Be ready!

    Hi, harangers.
Losing your phone is always an unpleasant event. But in the current situation, when almost all online services are tied to both the smartphone itself and the SIM card number, the loss of the phone turns into a real headache.

    Input data:

During a vacation in one of the ski resorts of our vast country, the phone quietly fell out of my inner pocket and most likely was picked up by a more successful vacationer, because it turned out to be disconnected within five minutes, which would not have happened if it had just buried in the snow.
    • Almost all social services applications were installed on the phone itself: logins, passwords and appearances.
    • A Google card was tied to a Google account.
    • Google account, social. networks, payment systems.

The attempt to block the SIM card in place was unsuccessful - my opsos phone was not at hand, and nobody remembers the “global number” by heart. Moreover, later two hour and a half attempts to call the operator in order to block the SIM card were unsuccessful. And for online number blocking, you need to have a phone with a number that needs to be blocked.

    Obvious problems

Problems with blocking (rays of diarrhea to my operator) of the number are fraught with consequences in the form of both debts on the account of the SIM card, and new passwords on services with a phone link. One overly popular social network in Russia does not allow you to delete a phone number without providing a new one. In case of delay with blocking, you may be in debt only because the opsos decided to save on a call center.

Personal data from a phone on an Android user cannot be deleted remotely. As well as any of the installed programs. All personal and business correspondence is suddenly not so personal and business.

A separate huge beam is sent to Google for the fact that there is no obvious opportunity to untie the phone from an existing account without having this phone in its hands. In volume, the beam increases three times if, as in my case, bank cards and payment system applications are attached to the account.

If you take the worst case scenario, then I risked losing my access to Google account with my phone, the debt on the operator’s account and a lot, a lot of money from a credit card. Not counting data leakage from Evernot.

The new owner would like to wish him good luck if he immediately reset the phone to the factory settings and diarrhea, if he decided to delve into the installed software.

    PS

If one of the android developers wants to write an application that, when changing the SIM card and entering the password incorrectly, resets the phone to the factory settings or resets the boot loader, I will be happy to help with the development of the interface and I will certainly buy this application in the market.
