TELESAR V - a robot for telebeing

Remember the film "Surrogates"? In this film, the heroes safely stuck out at home, while their robotic versions loitered around the world. The next step in the direction of this concept is the TELESAR V. Robot. How does it work? The operator puts on a helmet with a 3D display and headphones that accurately broadcast everything that the robot "sees" and "hears." But most importantly, the sensor system captures the direction and magnitude of the force when the fingers of the robot touch various objects, as well as the surface temperature. Data is transmitted to the “gloves” of the operator, which recreate the touch effect with an accuracy sufficient to distinguish individual “pimples” on Lego bricks by touch.

Telepresence turns into “telebeing": with the help of a robot avatar, the operator can not only see and hear everything that is happening around TELESAR V, but also feel the shape and temperature of objects touched by the fingers of the robot.

It remains only to "sheathe" the robot with a realistic body and, who knows, perhaps soon crowds of surrogates will roam the streets.
