Home digital tv

The Home Digital TV service and all services are based on the Microsoft Media Room platform: today, in my experience, this is the most stable and versatile platform that enables the deployment of IPTV services. Most people still perceive TV as something from the past, where besides six channels and ballet, there’s nothing to watch especially. However, over the years, television has evolved: learned to record programs, pause live broadcasts, rewind, order various films from an extensive online film library (without the need to register somewhere or download something for a long time), give access to various social networks directly from the TV screen and much more.
Let's consider in more detail the features of IPTV
In order for Beeline home digital television to appear in the apartment, you need to extend the cable to the apartment through which the signal will be transmitted. This is not a traditional antenna cable, but twisted pair cable (Ethernet). Via one cable, both TV and Internet signals can be transmitted simultaneously. Then a TV set-top box is connected to the TV: this is a device that will output a signal to the TV, decode it, record air and perform many more functions.

We are currently developing alternative connection methods. For example, very soon, the client will be able to use the software client built into the TV or computer itself, without having to buy or rent a set-top box. It will be enough just to download the IPTV client to a computer, unpack and install. After that, on the computer it will become possible to use all the functionality that a conventional set-top box carries and even more. Almost the same situation with the TV: if it supports the currently popular SMART-TV function, all you need to do is transfer the client on a USB flash drive from the computer to the TV. After which it will be possible to use almost all the IPTV functionality.
Why is IPTV cooler than conventional broadcasting?
First of all, these are the well-known and beloved by subscribers of the airtime management functions: recording, pause and rewind. All set-top boxes that are used on our network are equipped with a hard disk with a capacity of 320 or 500 GB: thanks to this, the set-top box can work with “live” air and record it.
The subscriber is in no way limited in the number of channels or transmissions available for recording, nor in the ability to record several channels simultaneously.
Recording works in real time and can be activated by pressing one button on the remote control. You can assign a recording of a future show by first searching for it in an electronic TV program, or by searching for it in the first letters of the name. The prefix itself will turn on at the right time, make a recording and turn off. There is a mode in which the set-top box can record series or series of transmissions. The set-top box itself takes control of the TV program and begins to monitor all issues of the given program, methodically recording them. Recorded issues can be viewed at any time. The number of views is also not limited.
The pause function works quite simply. At any time, you press the button on the remote control, and the image freezes. If you need to urgently answer a phone call, or just get distracted for a few minutes, then the pause function will be very useful to you. The prefix does not just stop the image, it turns on the background recording and all the while the image remains static, the air recording will be saved to disk. Accordingly, when the viewing is resumed, everything that happens on the screen will be shown to you as if you were watching the broadcast.
The rewind function also works simply, and its functionality also directly depends on the availability of a hard disk. At the moment when you switch to the channel and begin its continuous viewing, the prefix records everything that happens on the screen in the background. This does not interfere with the viewing of the program, since the record does not give out itself. At any time when watching a program, you have the opportunity to click on the rewind button and return to the "past." If desired, even a few hours ago. It is very convenient when watching sports programs or feature films.
A little more about the goodies
Now various content is available to our subscribers. Subscriptions to TV shows or video rental. Plus, the platform’s capabilities are not limited to broadcast management functions. For example, now Beeline TV users can take advantage of access to social networks directly from the TV screen. Due to the fact that all data is transmitted in XML format, the platform is limited only by copyright and the imagination of developers. In fact, you can create any application that will have any functionality, for example, a pager based on the ICQ protocol.

Popular services on TV
Some also need a device that will allow you to enter large amounts of text and quickly edit it. Such devices are already there now, but their percentage is still very small, due to the low demand by users. Of course, as soon as we understand that interest in such services is growing, they will appear in our customers. Agree, it is tempting, sitting at home and watching the next Eurovision, to discuss it right away in a running line, along with several thousand more spectators. Or when you come home and turn on the TV, write to your friends “Hello everyone! And who is watching what now? ”- and immediately see the ratings of programs and the number of viewers on the screen.
Oh, and even with a negative balance of retainedbroadcasting of the main domestic channels. In particular, among them are Channel One, Russian Television, Russian Information Channel (RIC), Culture, Sport, Children and Youth Channel, NTV, Petersburg - Channel 5.
What do you think will happen to television in the future? What services would you like to see?
