Tim Cook Letter

At the age of 56, Steve Jobs, co-founder and, until recently, Apple CEO, died.

In 1976, he founded Apple together with Steve Wozniak, and in the same year the company released the personal computer Apple I. At that time no one knew what kind of giant the company would be, the first office of which was located in the garage.

For several decades, the company managed to turn its devices into a real cult, and undoubtedly the main merit in this is Steve Jobs. This is not to say that the history of Apple has always been cloudless. For example, in 1985, due to disagreements with Wozniak, Jobs left the company, but returned 12 years later to bring her back to life, since Apple had serious financial problems by then.

By 2000, Jobs took over as CEO and left him only a few months ago for health reasons. In his letter to the staff, he said: “... if the day comes when I can no longer meet my responsibilities and expectations as CEO, I will be the first to inform you of this. Unfortunately, this day has come. ”

After it became known that Steve was dead, the new CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, sent a letter to the company's employees as follows:

    Team,

I have to share very sad news with all of you. This morning Steve passed away.

Apple has lost its visionary creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing person. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know Steve personally and work with him have lost a dear friend and inspiring mentor. Steve left the company that only he could build, and his spirit will always be the basis of Apple.

We plan to hold a memorial event with the participation of company employees, which will be held in the near future. But if you want to share your thoughts, memories and condolences before we get together to pay tribute to Steve, you can send an email to rememberingsteve@apple.com.

No words can express our sadness, as well as our gratitude for the opportunity to work with Steve. We will honor his memory by devoting ourselves to continuing the work that he loved so much.

    Tim.
