“System Administrator 2011” finished with a record number of participants - 72,766 administrators and IT specialists.

The main prize - a sea cruise went to Yevgeny Andreichuk from Yekaterinburg.

Eugene scored the maximum possible number of points (950 with promotional codes), spending on completing the quest from start to finish 142 hours. By the way, he took part in the competition because of a friend who invited him to compete for the company. Everyone would have such friends!

This time we distributed 61 prizes , in addition, during August we will send 8900 printed personal certificates to participants.

The most intelligent admins in our country live in St. Petersburg(30% of the Gurus and Pros among all those participating), in Moscow this indicator does not exceed the national average - 22%.

The 2011 competition turned out to be more ambitious and complex than last year. The number of participants increased by only 25%, but the quality of passing increased. The test was mastered by 63% of the participants.

The new mechanics of the contest - the quest , made it possible to give participants a unique set of questions. On the one hand, it’s interesting, on the other, there’s less chance of getting ready-made answers to the entire competition on the network.

Our admins detected 27 attacks, 3553 fake accounts were cut from the competition base. We eliminated another 5110 profiles after launching the algorithm for searching for unscrupulous participants. The algorithm analyzes a combination of signs (transit time, IP, work with the console, referer URL and others) and marks suspicious accounts. We do not take them into account in collecting statistics and prize draws. According to our data, about 3% of participants use ready-made answers and scripts for selecting answers . An adequate majority seeks to know their real level of knowledge. So, a few figures following the results of the competition:

• 72,766 participants at the time of summing up (15-00 Moscow time, July 29);
• 67% average number of correct answers in the test;
• 46% average number of correct answers in the quest;
• 9611 Prof- admin, 125 of them are girls;
• 7954 Guru-admin, of which 197 are girls;
• 293 - the average score in the quest with a maximum of 790;
• The most difficult test question is Question 13 about unmounting a CD-ROM.

During the competition, we received a feedback car and a small truck of fair criticism. Attentive participants helped correct 10 typos and the wording of one of the test questions.
