Introduced Google Wallet Mobile Payment Service

This was not a big surprise , as Google hoped, but the company, along with Citi, MasterCard, First Data and Sprint, on Thursday officially unveiled its mobile payment service based on NFC technology - Google Wallet ( Google Wallet ).

As described in the previous topic: “In order to pay for the purchase, you need to bring the smartphone to a special module located at the point of sale, which“ considers “information”. The application also allows you to store credit cards, offers, loyalty cards and gift cards.

A significant number of retailersalready working on Google Wallet integration. To use the service, you will need a Citi MasterCard or Google Prepaid Card, which can be replenished from any other card. Google Wallet will be fully compatible with existing PayPass contactless payment system.

The service will be synchronized with  Google Offers , which sends the “offer of the day” to the user and helps to search for other offers from retailers.

Testing of Google Wallet will begin in New York and in San Francisco, and a full release is scheduled for this summer. Initially, the only compatible phone is Sprint Nexus S 4G, but support for other phones is promised, and phones without NFC support can simply use special stickers (the Google Wallet application itself works on all phones).

Of course, all this is only for the United States so far, but Google will work on international expansion.
