In February 2010, StartupPoint began regional expansion from the 1st Point in St. Petersburg. During the year we visited 17 cities of Russia! About what the situation of startups in the regions will be discussed further.
There is definitely an entrepreneurial community in the regions. And startups in Siberia live best of all!
Most of all, the SP team was pleased with the venture infrastructure of the Siberian cities of Novosibirsk and Tomsk . Not only have all the conditions for projects been created here: startups are supported by Russian and foreign companies; local universities train specialists who can create demanded projects. It is safe to say that "Silicon Valley" is not only in Skolkovo, but also in Siberia.
In Rostov-on-DonWe met the most responsive audience for beginning entrepreneurs. Experts gave advice in essence, directed projects in the right direction. The meeting was as practical and useful as possible for local projects.
Here we met the youngest entrepreneur who presented the idea of creating a Russian iPad for educational purposes. It is gratifying that innovative entrepreneurship in Russia is getting younger. Well, for a snack - a photograph of the “Mars rover” (also from Rostov)
Nizhny Novgorodpleased with the large number of investors present at the meeting. Nizhny Novgorod investors are actively looking for projects at an early stage and are ready to support projects with advice and money. An active struggle between the strategic investor (Volgatelecom) and private investors for the Cash System project unfolded right at the SP meeting. All remained alive. And the creator of the project is very pleased.
Yekaterinburg is a city where SP notes comprehensive support of projects by the state. Infrastructure for innovative entrepreneurs created as a project Infrahabwith the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Sverdlovsk region (exhaled). Strategic investors such as SKB-Kontur and i-Jet (creators of the Merry Farmer) are seen in the region. Such large investors can boast of few regions.
But despite such strong support, there are not many projects in the city. Come out to everyone! If you are, make yourself known.

Unfortunately, the regions are far behind in the development of mobile projects (applications and programs), as well as applications for social networks. Startuppoint was the first to actively collect regional projects. And we will continue this activity this year (in the coming weeks - Izhevsk , Kazan , Perm ).
So far they have remained behind the borot - Ufa, Samara, Tolyatti and Volgograd . We are looking for partners to organize events in these cities.
The next SP will be held in Izhevsk (March 4) and Kazan (March 5) . We will give prizes and gifts!
