We all at Evernote just love app stores. They play a key role in the growth of Evernote , especially the iTunes app store.
Since its launch, the iTunes App Store has set the standard for what such directories should be, and its success has helped create a new market. Today, Evernote can be found on dozens of shelves of virtual stores around the world, whether iTunes, Android, BlackBerry or WebOS. In recent months, app stores have become the most popular way to distribute Evernote. More than 70% of new Evernote users download Evernote for the first time from there.
Until now, all this has been relevant only to mobile platforms, and that is why today's news is so significant: Evernote has appeared in the newly opened Mac OS app store - the Mac App Store .
Apple revolutionized user experience with mobile apps. Prior to the iTunes App Store, finding and installing applications for your smartphone was no more pleasant than, say, walking on broken glass. And these days - it would seem - what could be easier! Imagine now that finding and installing desktop applications can be just as easy! Bringing its know-how to the world of desktop computers, Apple will once again turn our mind about what the search and installation of new software should be like. And we are pleased to be involved in these events.
The Mac App Store is available as part of the Mac OS X 10.6.6 update. Upon completion of the update, you will see the App Store icon in the dock - find our application there by the word “Evernote” and follow the installation instructions.
In order to comply with Apple’s requirements, the following changes have been made to our client distributed through the App Store:
All this is very new and unusual, and we will follow with interest the development of the Mac App Store and its impact on the software industry (and something tells us that this will be a significant impact).
Addition: The first results did not take long: the number of registered new Mac users soared by 1800%, and over the past 24 hours we have set a new record for the number of new users - 44,788 people (more than half of whom came from the Mac App Store, and Evernote came out on top in the Productivity section there).

- Evernote is not integrated into the “Print to PDF” menu;
- disabled the ability to download internal beta versions of Evernote.
