Headphones Arctic Sound P311 - ears on top of the head

Wires, wires - flow away like water. At this time, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi filled all kinds of mobile devices with their antennas. Wireless mice, keyboards, game controllers, but primarily headphones. It was with them that the manufacturers decided to start universal bluetooth addiction. The little-known headphone manufacturer Arctic Sound on the Russian market also did not disregard this niche in the market and introduced mobile headphones with the serial number “P311”. For those who don’t know, Bluetooth is a wireless standard that provides communication between devices at a distance of up to 100 m. In fact, the range of Bluetooth antennas in most gadgets used is 3-5 meters, with a maximum of 10 meters. Yes, and this distance varies depending on the obstacles in the signal path.

Almost nobody knows Arctic Sound in Russia, but everyone knows Arctic Cooling. Yes, these guys are the ones who can do the best cooling in the world for top-end video cards and the coolest thermal grease - MX2 or MX3. But you won’t be full of coolers, and so under the subsidiary brand, headphones and speakers saw the light. Let's start with the technical characteristics of the P311: Bluetooth version: V.2.1 + EDR Class 2; Support for profiles: A2DP, AVRCP, HSP, HFP 1.5; Range: up to 20 m; In use: up to 20 hours; Standby time: up to 400 hours; Weight: 71.2 g.

As can be seen from the design, P311 differ from the usual headphones wearing style. "Cervical rim" (did not find the best way to call) connects two headphones. Holding on to ears, in my opinion, is not a good idea. But, on the other hand, the manufacturer indicates the main qualities of the product - mobility, lightness and sportiness. Well, this style of wearing is not at all new and there is a place to be with other manufacturers. But you definitely have to get used to the headphones. Firstly, the first two days my ears were clearly not comfortable from the fact that they were holding headphones. Secondly, the plastic spike on the rim is far from ideal and rubs the ears with a sharp movement. But it seems to me anyway more pluses. The manufacturer clearly guessed with the weight, the headphones are almost not felt. If the music in your ears didn’t play, then from time to time you would check

Undoubtedly, ease of use is also an important point. Most Russian people, due to their mentality, do not read the instructions for new devices, preferring to understand on their own. With this type of people, I couldn’t immediately connect the P311 with the HTC Legend. It turns out that for connecting headphones with another Bluetooth device, the button with the handset needs to be held for 5-7 seconds. I immediately let her go, but the headphones, of course, were not detected.
Four more were placed along the contour of the handset button: increase-decrease volume and the next-previous track. It is simple and convenient, but it is impossible to find the desired button while listening. At first, I even shot them to turn up the volume, and switched tracks on the phone. But over time, I learned to touch the volume up button. Compactness is another undoubted advantage of this model. The kit even has a special case that you can use to store or carry headphones. But because of its size, I prefer to drag “ears” around my neck. And thanks to the bending darlings, they also do not take up much space in the bag.

I have no complaints about the sound quality. The sound is clear enough, and deep and clear bass sounds even somehow strange for such headphones. Honestly, I could not expect good quality for $ 40 for Bluetooth headphones. But now I can say that I know at least one Bluetooth headphone at such a cost that can provide high quality sound. Also, headphones can still be used for talking on the phone. But here for me one thing has remained incomprehensible. With an outgoing call, the communication is through the headphones, but when they call me, I get silence in the headphones, and I have to communicate through the phone. Why? It turned out that to transfer the conversation to the headphones, you need to press the button with the handset on them. And if you accept the call in the usual way, then the sound will go through the mobile phone.

And in conclusion, I note that for a month of use, I only charged the headphones once. I do not use them constantly, but they work out the time stated by the manufacturer exactly. In my opinion, such headphones will be a great New Year gift. For a detailed test of the headphones and their amplitude-frequency characteristics, look for the next issue of the i magazine .
