In early November, in Irkutsk, a conference of software developers “Autumn GeekFest” was held. The event was held in the auditorium of the Institute of Energy Systems. L. A. Melentyev SB RAS.
This time everything was against us, but the conference, judging by the feedback from the participants, was a success. However, to judge you.
A lot of preliminary work was carried out, which was made possible thanks to the support of my wonderful friends from the companies Business Network - Irkutsk and ISPsystem - these companies became the sponsors of the conference. Among the friends of the conference, Oracle, Megaplan and ISEM SB RAS were also noticed. The Irkutsk city site IRK.ru provided great informational support to the conference .
After the previous conference, I really wanted to make sure that after the event, the participants had something tangible. dvan , who is the author of one of the popular in narrow circles of the comic book “ Hello ACS ”, made an excellent poster, as it turned out later, it adorned some of the IT offices in Irkutsk (a small copy is located above). Of course, as in the previous time, we planned to present our wonderful poster to each conference participant.
But we did not stop there. A large box was made with wonderful T-shirts that were handed out to reporters for interesting questions.
On the whole, it turned out to be a pretty decent bunch of everything necessary for holding a conference. In addition to the above, wonderful girls collected packages with a handout, a kind of welcome pack.
True, as shown by intelligence, leaving the girls to pack packages in their office all alone was somewhat unsafe +). They foolishly fame.
Immediately after the start of registration, the conference room was filled with participants a little more than completely - part continued to stand stubbornly for almost the entire conference (as there were not enough seats). One of the drawbacks of our hall can be attributed to the fact that it quickly became hot, and the hope of a cold autumn did not materialize. Autumn brought a number of force majeure circumstances: two of our speakers were unable to take part in the conference at the last moment.

Between performances, a wonderful coffee break took place. On which, judging by the letters of review, two people found a job.
And during the speeches, many conference participants had fun using Twitter and its broadcast, organized with the help of a great friend of the conference - svartalf . Although some abused the tweet tape, which sometimes distracted the speakers from speaking. We’ll still think about how to avoid this next time.
According to the organizers, the conference went well. Many participants left satisfied with a wonderful pastime. Some carried wonderful T-shirts with them and made useful contacts. The conference ended with a small party ...
