The presentation of Apple just ended and one of the key points was the Apple TV 2, or as they simply called it Apple TV.
In fact, the device is a continuation of the original Apple TV, released back in 2006, but there are fundamental differences in this revision:
They reduced the size by four. The changes also affected the connectors, there are now only 4 of them: Power, SPDIF, HDMI, Ethernet. No more RCA, no ordinary Audio Out. Everything is easy and simple. It also left the ability to connect via WiFi including 802.11n, but we are all used to it.
This Apple TV 2 does not have a hard drive, i.e. nothing more can be stored on it. But, they all replaced the streaming feature. Play music and video, everything and everything. Also included are Netflix, YouTube, Flickr, and MobileMe. Roughly speaking, everything from where you can stream content without saving it. Of course, the opportunity to watch movies from a local Maca or PC is present, which cannot but rejoice if you do not want to pay for each movie.
Apple at today's event renamed the familiar thing like AirTunes to AirPlay, which resulted in a new opportunity for Apple TV to stream files from iPhone / iPad / etc ... My personal opinion is that it is very, very convenient. Let's say a friend comes with an iPad, and he has a clip that you have never seen and would like to watch, or maybe even a full-length movie. So, it connects to your home WiFi and turns on AirPlay, which brings your 49 '' LED LCD screen to complete frenzy, and you too.
The last in importance but not in meaning feature of the new Apple TV is the ability to rent movies and TV shows at 99 cents. Rent gives the right to start watching a movie in 4 days and end watching it in 24 hours.
