Asus N61VN. First-hand Notebook Review

Prior to buying this laptop, I asked Boomburum about it, to which he replied that this iron had not yet come into his hands, and when it doesn’t be known ...

So I have to introduce you, haberman, this is the creation of ASUS. Under cat traffic, carefully! =)

By the will of fate, it so happened that my beloved Asus F5RL covered himself with a copper basin, he did not die his own death, but ominous animals — kittens — helped him, well, that’s not the point. After the death of my working tool, I began to pick up for myself a new, something more modern, more powerful, but more sympathetic, but at the same time not too terribly expensive. Anything within 40,000 rubles. The search was not long, since I wanted Asus (naively believing that I would not have to change my habits ... more on that later), the choice fell on the Asus N61VN with a Q9000 processor (this series also extends to other (cheaper and less productive processors: Intel® Core ™ 2 Duo Processor T9600 / P8800 / P7450 / T6600: 2.8 GHz - 2.2 GHz) I don’t know why I need a quad-core processor, but I always want it to be more powerful, right? I chose it, went, bought it ... and here it is the treasured box:

What's inside? Let's get a look. Three disks with various software and drivers:

    Charger:

All kinds of books and manuals:

And he, the hero of the occasion:

There were also all kinds of lanyards for wires, rags for the monitor and other little joys.

Turned it on, went to install Windows 7. After graduation, in front of my face appeared OS with crap icons desktop:

    Oh exciting

When I chose this laptop there was not a single review (more precisely, there was one, but meager). There were only forums where they discussed it. I answer the pressing questions there:
    • The screen is excellent. Viewing angles are not so hot, but since I work with laptops I have enough. And I work with them in different ways: lying on the bed, substituting knees, like a stand. Sitting at the table. In all positions, the viewing angles satisfied me.
    • Keyboard. I’m not comfortable after my previous ... I’m getting used to it. But these are exclusively my habits, namely: the “Fn” button is now after the “Ctrl” button, not like before. In general, the distance between the keys is different, and the key travel (in depth) is the same. Under pressing the buttons, the keyboard does NOT bend, as it was described in that very meager review (or how did they put pressure on it there?). Due to the size of the screen, manufacturers have the opportunity to add a separate NumPad, I think this is a big plus. The arrangement of “Home”, “End”, “Page up”, “Page down”, “Delete” - all this is in new places, I’m not used to it and therefore it’s not convenient for that yet.
    • The surface around the keyboard is excellent, it doesn’t slip, your hand doesn’t sweat, and this material doesn’t rub, leaving a terrible black spot in place at hand, as my previous Asus F5RL did.
    • The surface of the lid, yes, will get dirty from any touch of a finger ... but what can you do, beauty requires sacrifice.

I am satisfied with the purchase. If this review helps someone in choosing a laptop, I will be just happy. I will answer all questions in the comments or supplement the review.
