About some aspects of road construction

It was inspired by yesterday's apocalyptic evening that I spent struggling with the weather in Yaroslavka.
Personal speed record - almost 7 hours from Kostroma to the Moscow Ring Road, and all because of unexpected snow.

    Introduction to the topic

A few weeks ago, in the Vladimir region, on the M8 highway, the first round of the detour of the infamous Vladimir Slides was opened. This section has traditionally been considered the most difficult and most emergency on the entire route - about 20 kilometers of steep ascents and descents, sharp turns, a narrow road, high curbs and constantly forbidden overtaking.

Before the opening of the detour, not a day passed without a major accident. The usual scenario looked like this: a loaded truck with a forest in the first gear climbs uphill, after half an hour someone doesn’t stand it and decides to overtake, oncoming, a sad ending ...

Here I tried to depict a detour on a map:
    maps.google.ru/maps /ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=106474660129920883535.0004783ea2139601d1b19&t=h&z=12 the

red line is a new road.

It is a good four-lane highway with a separator, markup and other necessary things. Except for a small stretch in the north, where the new highway connects to the old.

    Why did this happen?

Initially, the new road was supposed to go much further, in the future going to the bypass road around Pereslavl. However, as always - there was not enough money. As a result, a small site was built, about a third from the planned, to the border with the Yaroslavl region and connected by a jumper to the old road.

That's what I want to talk about this jumper.

    And what happened?

And this is what happened. When moving from Yaroslavl to Moscow, several surprises await us:
    1. A sharp left turn from the "old" road to the new one. Fortunately, the turning area is illuminated, but this does not save the driver from the need to understand mutually exclusive traffic signs on the go, which recommend going to Moscow either straight or left
    2. Immediately after turning onto the “new” road, the driver will see the signs “Speed limit - 60 km / h”, “No overtaking”, “Steep turns” and a warning sign “Dangerous section of the road”
    3. The section connecting the “new” and “old” roads is really very dangerous - it is narrow and winding, and it’s not lit at all
    4. And only after driving five kilometers along this "appendix" the driver finally gets to a new section. And here - attention - fanfare - signs "60" and "Overtaking is prohibited" are not canceled!

The entire staff of the Aleksandrovsky traffic police is now engaged in capturing "violators" who by no means want to drive at a speed of 60 km / h on the highway, and, a mortal sin, dare to overtake in a neighboring lane on a four-lane road!

    A curtain.

    What to do?

And there are two options. Or an urgent psychiatric examination is needed for anencephaly of all RosAvtoDor and traffic police personnel, as well as the design institute that invented it.

Or you need to look for someone who is profitable ...
