NIT Social School Robot
Nippon Institute of Technology (Japan Institute of Technology) together with the design organizations Harada Vehicle Design, ZMP and ZNUG Design presented a robot that will go to elementary school. The main task of this robot is social. He must show schoolchildren that robots are no longer fiction and that they can be near people and be useful to them. It is also assumed that the robot will increase the already high interest of Japanese students in technical sciences.

The presence of the robot in the school clearly demonstrates the level of modern technology in robotics, and, importantly, the problems and prospects for the development of these technologies. In primary school, children are most susceptible to new ideas, and it is these children who will ensure scientific and technological progress in the future. In addition, now robots are rapidly entering our lives and it is very important that our children learn to communicate with them.

The height of the robot is 125 centimeters. The robot knows how to walk, detect and avoid obstacles, has a significant vocabulary. The robot algorithms are created using MS Robotics Studio - it is not completely autonomous and is controlled using a computer or remote control.
