About the “crisis in the head”
Recently, one often hears and reads that there is a "crisis in the head." Alas, but the current situation has objective and, as economists say, fundamental reasons. Not understanding this is extremely dangerous.
The business owners with whom I communicate are not as optimistic as business consultants or hired top managers. I understand them very well - they have to fix losses and radically change plans: from growth to survival. In such a situation, success stories and motivational trainings are meaningless and useless. And even unsafe, because they can lead to loss of time.
Of course, a crisis situation is not the end of the world, and depression is not the best reaction to what is happening, but there is no reason to clap your hands either. The situation has changed, accordingly, our actions must change.
And the first thing to do is honestly admit to yourself that the world has changed, and most likely will not be the same. Secondly, we must admit that, despite the abundance of forecasts, no one knows what it will be. Even more difficult, but it is also important to accept the fact that yesterday's successes are largely due to the pre-crisis situation: cheap money and markets growing on this money, like by leaps and bounds.
Can a crisis contribute to development? Of course! After all, it is precisely the absence and lack of resources that makes us search for new ways and options. But, first of all, it is necessary to part with illusions.
