Install Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery

One of the main tasks of a system administrator is backing up. In my practice, I came across this task only for Unix servers, and before, I had never had to perform the same actions on Windows machines. But now this moment has come - I had to raise the Windows server and set up backup on it accordingly.
Of course, I looked at various backup systems - from standard archiving to professional backup programs. As a result, I chose Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery for this task. My choice is more subjective than really based on the advantages of this system over others (and I often had to deal with programs from this manufacturer for work). So…
Installation, as you might imagine, should begin with the “acquisition” of this product. I want to warn you right away - the program is paid (you will have to activate it in 2 months), so you can enjoy its delights only 2 months, respectively. On the manufacturer's website you can download various modifications of this program. We are interested in Backup Exec System Recovery for Windows servers. After receiving the program, we begin the installation. There is only one control moment during installation - this is the choice of components for installation (in the figure)

In principle, nothing more, so I advise you not to change anything at this stage. At the end of the installation, it is possible to start the update of the initial backup wizard. We start the first, then we will do the second manually. After the installation is complete, you must restart the server. This completes the installation.
In the next post I will talk about the basic configuration of Backup Exec.
