Smart cubes

    A student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, David Merill, demonstrates Siftables, a set of cubes that you can assemble and mix in your hands. These toys of the future can count, play and talk with their friends. What will be the next step in board games?

    David Merrill works on his tiny computer bricks capable of creating networks (and music).





    Russian sources add that each of them is equipped with an OLED display, an accelerometer with three axes, Bluetooth, flash memory, a tactile interface and an additional port for connecting other devices. In no way should the possibility of these devices appear in commercial access, and this can happen quite soon, given the relative simplicity of the design and software.

    I’ll add on my own that they fascinated me so much that I want to drop everything and build a smart pyramid).
