Fixed a bug in Ubuntu, which leads to wear of the hard drive
Back in Ubuntu 7.10, a rather controversial innovation was included, which allows you to save laptop battery power by putting the hard drive into sleep mode with a frequent period of time. At current settings, for 100 hours of working with a laptop, the hard drive went into sleep mode 7,000 times (disk resource - 600,000), i.e. almost once a minute.
However, only now, in the "proposed" test repository for distribution versions 8.04, 8.10, and 9.04, the corrected version of the acpi-support package was placed. It is expected that soon the package will be included in the main repositories.
