Cute and non-standard gizmos, such as, for example, flash drives with an original design, will always find their buyer. We are already accustomed to the fact that in terms of their technical characteristics “flash drives” of different manufacturers do not differ much (if you don’t take too different segments), therefore the choice often lies in the plane of appearance and, slightly, additional features.
First on the list is Transcend's JetFlash 168 from the Chinese Garden series. By and large, the device itself does not represent anything special. Dimensions - 61 × 18.6 × 9.8 mm with a weight of 10 grams; interface bandwidth - 480 Mbps; compatible with all versions of Windows (starting from the 98th), MAC OS 9.0+ and Linux 2.4. The series includes models of 1, 2, 4 and 8 GB. The key to JetFlash 168 is design.
Ergodata Distribution, which introduced these drives on the Russian market, offers several design options with Chinese characters printed on the case. It looks at least pretty. The cost of a 1 GB model is not so biting - just 900 rubles. An 8-gigabyte JetFlash 168 will cost, however, already at 7,100 rubles, which is simply prohibitively expensive.
Another novelty is the PNY Attache Optima. This is a really original approach to design. It makes no sense to describe - take a look at the picture. Personally, I really liked it.
