There are such releases about which I do not feel like writing that this is an “update”. That is, technically, it is: major release 1.0., Added an incredible amount of everything, improved the same amount. But in fact - this is a completely rewritten application.
The 2GIS Dialer update is just such a case. We released the first version of 2GIS Dialer a little over a year ago . During this time, we managed to get up to a million devices, catch and cure several critical bugs, collect a huge amount of feedback and understand what needs to be improved in the first place, before moving on.
Yes, we did Dyler, which worked not only on top-end devices with the latest firmware. Yes, we knew information about companies in more than 250 cities of Russia. But let's be honest, we didn’t work out the case “launched → rang”. Applications like ours should have the fastest search, launch, and scrolling capabilities.
Fixed. Scrolling, launching and searching work reactively .
A few words about the search. We added transliteration support, including for T9. Now it doesn’t matter how the contact is added to the book and how to dial it: “Dima” or “Dima”.
Owners of Android devices can be considered geeks for their love of custom settings. Including color scheme settings. But if you put in front of yourself 20 different devices from different manufacturers, then they will all have different shades. The green color that we actively used was on some phones too pale, on some tearing-out eyes bright.
Fixed. We have added themes that you can choose to your taste. For owners of AMOLED screens have created a special dark theme that saves battery power.
Show hidden. A huge mass of unknown numbers remains outside our bases. Not because our databases are bad, but because companies do not have all the numbers public and they do not want to add them to the directory.
In 2GIS Dialer it will be possible to add numbers ourselves if we have not defined it. Later, this number will fall into the database of the dealer and save other users from the excitement of the unknown.
Conquer 2-sim smartphones. As it turned out, there are a lot of these, Dyler does not always work correctly with them. The task is not trivial, because there is no single standard for access to two SIM cards. Each manufacturer comes up with its own interface. We decided that we will start with the popular ones.
