Understanding Web 2.0
Web 2.0 - as soon as they do not interpret this term. Managers, wanting to sparkle with a “smart” word, marketers “pushing” a product to potential customers, only the lazy one has not talked about Web 2.0 yet.

So what is it, after all? Definitions and thoughts on this subject have accumulated an enormous amount on the Web. Let's try to figure it out. Let's start with the facts.
This Wikipedia quote is rather vague about the emergence of the term as such and highlights certain aspects that make up the essence of Web 2.0. Here they are:
I will not give a literal description, it can be read in the article , I will try to consider them from the point of view of the developer and user.
Web Services

Web Applications
In my humble opinion, web services are one of the main aspects of Web 2.0. Why? Because at the moment there are more and more platform-independent, independent services that provide certain services that require only a browser. These are online image / text / code editors, all kinds of validators, analyzers, text generators, operating systems in the end.
A user visiting such a site, in fact, immediately receives what interests him, without going into details and without filtering tons of information that is unnecessary to him. It is good and comfortable.
I will not go into predictions, but it seems to me that behind such an organization of the Network is the future. Naturally, after some time, some of the services that turn out to be useless or unclaimed will sink into oblivion, but this is a natural process, the strongest survive.
AJAX
AJAX is a debatable term in itself, and it seems to me that it is still not one of the main aspects of Web 2.0, but the fact of using this mixture of technologies in order to reduce the time for request and response and update the data on the page without its full rebooting is a definite plus and, at the very least, concern for the user.
Web syndication
Popularly known as RSS feeds. The undoubted part of Web 2.0. With the help of RSS, notifications about updates come, the transfer of content or part of it from one resource to another, which in combination with AJAX gives ample opportunities for generating content at the user's request. The output is a network of interdependent services integrated using these technologies. Which in itself is a mash-up .
Tags (tags)
An aspect that does not play a key role, which completely or partially replaces the categories known to everyone. In fact - the same eggs, only in profile. "Clouds" of tags that shone on countless sites give a general idea of which topics are covered more often on a particular resource, but nothing more.
Socialization
You can talk about socialization for hours, write reports and build graphs, which they can do. The socialization of the Web as a whole, in my opinion, is a slightly more global aspect than one of the criteria of Web 2.0. All of you are familiar with examples of excellent sites / communities / social networks, which for the most part are created by users. This trend began during the long time that Web 2.0 came into being and it embodies the reflection of human society on the Web.
Design
This aspect is not mentioned in the Wikipedia article, but in my opinion is also important. On the one hand, the design on many sites of the “format” Web 2.0 is replete with icons, heavy graphics, bright colors, which not everyone likes. But on the other hand, in many thoughtful projects, the design at the end began to fulfill its main function - emphasizing and highlighting content, assisting in its perception and visual separation.
The main sectors are separated by color schemes, large and understandable icons indicate the main "tricks" of the service and its connection with other services, large, contrasting texts allow you to quickly grasp the essence and go to the main thing, and much more. Friendly interfaces are a trump card for sites that want to succeed.
In general, I want to note that in addition to the massive use of the term Web 2.0 to and from the place, the tendency to revise and develop many aspects of the Web has positive goals and develops the very structure of the Internet. Information is becoming more accessible, user capabilities are growing, marketing is booming, natural selection is taking place - progress on the face.
Long live Web 2.0, the slogan that leads us forward.

The appearance of the term Web 2.0 is usually associated with the article “Tim O Reilly - What Is Web 2.0” dated September 30, 2005, first published in Russian in the journal Computerra (No. 37 (609) and 38 (610) of 11 and 18 October 2005, respectively) and then posted under the heading “What is Web 2.0” by the Computerra Online website. In this article, Tim O Reilly linked the emergence of a large number of sites, united by some general principles, with the general tendency of the development of the Internet community, and called this phenomenon Web 2.0., As opposed to the "old" Web 1.0. Despite the fact that the meaning of this term is still the subject of much debate, those researchers who acknowledge the existence of Web 2.0, highlight several key aspects of this phenomenon.
