Interfax buys Finmarket
The Finmarket agency , which provides economic and financial news, will be part of the Interfax international information group . The latter has already agreed to purchase a 90% stake in Finmarket.
One of the goals of the transaction, the amount of which is not called, is the entry of Interfax into the Internet market. According to Mikhail Komissar, chairman of the group’s board of directors, Interfax, which mainly deals with providing subscription information to corporate clients, has practically not developed its business on the “open Internet”. The new asset is estimated to correct this situation.
Finmarket, having entered the structure of Interfax, will be able to use the news and analytical materials of the latter. All projects of the acquired agency - Personal Money, RusBonds, Finmarket RealTime - will receive support with information materials and services appropriate to their focus. “Personal money” will develop along with information services for consumers of financial services; they plan to make the RusBonds project the main resource on the bond market in Runet (due to, among other things, the unique SPARK database developed by Interfax and the issuer information disclosure system); In the future, Finmarket RealTime will occupy a leading position in the field of providing exchange information for participants in the Russian market.
According to the director general of Finmarket news agency Denis Evstigneev, new content and services that Finmarket can use will attract thousands of new users interested in financial and economic information to the agency’s Internet projects.
