In the footsteps of Nintendo: Sony launches PlayStation Classic in December

Two years ago, Nintendo announced the start of sales of the modern version of NES , and no one, perhaps even the authors of the project, expected such a major success. A year later, the same company released an upgraded version of SNES. Actually, the one and the other console can be called a hardware emulator of retro consoles, but this did not bother anyone - sales broke all records. Production and sale of NES Classic even had to stop , because the company was spending on this project too many resources, and in anticipation of the release of the Nintendo Switch.

Now in the wake of the success of Nintendo is Sonyhas decided to re-release Sony PlayStation One. It is worth recalling that for the first time this console saw the light a quarter of a century ago. The success of the console did not say just lazy, because Sony sold more than 100 million devices. The updated console, the dimensions of which are much smaller than the size of the original console, comes out in December. It will be sold at a price of $ 99.99.

Developers will upload 20 games to the console memory, including Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3 and Ridge Racer Type 4. The exact date of publication is December 3rd.

The console itself, two classic controllers and accessories like USB and HDMI cables are included. By the way, in addition to the above titles, the company plans to add Jumping Flash and Wild Arms to the game set.

As you can see, the updated console will be a PS One hardware emulator, as is the case with Nintendo consoles. It looks like an exact, albeit reduced by 45% copy of the "ancestor". The difference is that the CD prefix will not be read, and it has other outputs.

Yes, and the joy is called the PlayStation Classic gamer. Virtual memory will be used instead of physical memory cards, so there is no need to buy additional accessories of this type. By the way, the company decided to sell the USB adapter separately. In this, she also repeats the actions of Nintendo - she also sold consoles with a USB cable, but without a charger.
