Mail.ru has provided Dvacha protection against DDoS attacks.
Mail.ru has ensured stable operation of anonymous “Dvach” imageboards and solved the problem of massive DDoS attacks, as reported in the company's official blog . "Dvach" attacked on September 25 this year.
The attacks completely paralyzed the resource, but from today, September 30, its efficiency has been restored by the efforts of Mail.ru Group specialists.
To overcome the attack, the administration “Dvacha” required technical support and now all the imageboard traffic passes through Mail.ru Group servers.
“Mail.Ru Group has provided technical support and protection against DDoS to the project and will support the project in the future. The cooperation is being implemented on a grant basis, ”said Vladimir Gabrielyan, vice president and technical director of Mail.Ru Group.
The administrator of “Dvacha” Nariman Namazov thanked the company for the help and noted that the support of Mail.ru will allow it to more closely engage in the development of the resource.
The opinion of the “Dvacha” community was divided on this. Many consider this a dangerous step in the “embrace” of Mail.ru.
“Dvach”, located at 2ch.hk - is another incarnation of 2ch.ru, the largest Russian imageboard, closed on January 17, 2009 by the administrator of the resource personally. After that, “Dvach” experienced a few more revivals under other domains. In recent years, the manager of the imageboard is Nariman "Abu" Namazov, who was repeatedly criticized by the visitors of "Dvach" for his resource development policy.
