Which university graduates live well?

    The Ministry of Education and Science conducted a monitoring of the employment of university graduates

    . Recently, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia published the results of the second monitoring of the employment of university graduates in the history of the country. In the course of the work carried out, data on employment and average wages of university graduates in 2014 were analyzed on the basis of their employment in 2015. Data for the study was provided by a number of Russian organizations, including the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation and Rosobrnadzor. The specialists of the Ministry of Education and Science processed the data of 1.17 million graduates of Russian universities.

    As it turned out, the average percentage of graduate employment in the country is 75%. Last year this figure was the same. The average salary of graduates for the first year of work of young specialists amounted to 30,600 rubles per month.

    According to the results of the analysis , graduates of engineering and medical specialties can boast the highest percentage of employment (80-90%). The most highly paid are nuclear energy and technology, nursing, pharmacy, electricity and heat, chemical technology. But the worst of all is the case with graduates of the once super-popular legal and economic specialties. According to statistics, about 40% of newly minted lawyers and 20% of representatives of economic specialties do not find a job in the specialty in the first year after graduation. These specialties and wages are lower than many others.

    The maximum average monthly salary is from engineering representatives. Among them are fiveleading areas :

    1. Air navigation and operation of aviation and rocket and space technology. Graduates of this direction receive on average more than 74 thousand rubles a month;

    2. Nuclear energy and technology - here young professionals receive about 74 thousand rubles a month;

    3. Graduates of such specialties as applied geology, mining, oil and gas and geodesy receive more than 47 thousand rubles a month;

    4. Electronics, radio engineering and communication systems - 46 thousand rubles per month;

    5. Physics and astronomy - more than 43 thousand rubles a month.

    According to the Minister of Education and Science of Russia, Dmitry Livanov, employment can be considered one of the most important indicators of the demand for one or another university. And this indicator is one of the most important in monitoring the system of higher education in Russia.

    How is the monitoring done?

    The whole process is divided into several stages, among which the main ones are the following:

    1. Filling in the federal register of education documents. Here universities provide the necessary information on the issued documents on education with information on graduates. This information includes the name of the graduate, date of birth, gender. Foreign universities, as well as security and religious schools do not participate in monitoring;

    2. Sending an impersonal request to the pension fund. At this stage, the information provided is verified. The data on such graduate categories as those who continued their studies, graduates of foreign universities, graduates of additional and secondary education programs are deleted from the general database;

    3. Correction of statistics of graduates. At the third stage, graduates with an erroneous date of birth are identified. After that, the definition of primary quantitative indicators, which are determined in the period of the entire calendar year following the year of issue, is carried out. The fact of work is determined (contributions to the Pension Fund - at least one per year), the number of active individual entrepreneurs among graduates, as well as the average amount of payments to graduates.

    4. Calculation of the share of employment. At the last stage, the specialists calculate the share of employment for each educational organization, excluding graduates of foreign citizens. In addition, an analysis of data obtained from the Pension Fund in the context of integrated groups of specialties is being conducted.
