
GeekUniversity Opens Recruitment at Big Data Department of Analytics
A new department of Big Data Analytics has opened for programmers at our online university. In a year and a half, students will master all the modern technologies of big data analytics and gain the necessary experience to work in large IT companies. GeekUniversity is a joint educational project of Mail.ru Group and GeekBrains with guaranteed employment.
Everyone can enter the GeekUniversity. Applicants to the Big Data Faculty of Analytics will be asked to take a test with theoretical questions. If the result is below the passing score, you can use the preparatory courses to gain the missing knowledge.
Teachers of the faculty are practicing specialists and employees of large companies with specialized education and extensive experience:
- Konstantin Sevostyanov , BI Lead in Citimobil;
- Michael Gunin , Senior BI Analyst at CityMobile;
- Leonid Orlov , Python developer, created BI-systems for the government of the Russian Federation and the FSB, worked for international companies Prognoz and ER-Telecom;
- Sergey Kruchinin , a developer of military communications systems, teaches computer networks and an introduction to GNU / Linux;
- Victor Schupochenko , developer of the corporate project management system for oDesk and VNC;
- Alexey Petrenko , a Python developer, is developing IT solutions for the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Each student is assigned a mentor who will help to quickly resolve any issues.
Graduates of the Big Data Faculty of Analytics will receive all the necessary competencies to solve real business problems: they will learn how to work with databases, pump knowledge in mathematics and statistics, learn applied machine learning algorithms and the basics of ETL, Big Data analytics tools (Hadoop, Apache Spark), master work skills in BI-systems. For a year and a half of training, students will be able to solve 6 design tasks for working with data and put their skills into practice. The final stage of training will be the work on the graduation project. Graduates will receive a certificate and certificate confirming their qualifications.
The first stream starts on April 18, then on Mondays and Thursdays. Tuition is paid. You can register for the faculty here .
