Direct line with TM. v5.0. Important poll inside

Today is January 25, the student’s day, and we seemed to have handed over three sessions: we launched the English version of Habr , changed some algorithms , spent the WD-40 barrel on loosening the nuts , which had been tightened for a decade. More than 2,000 comments were sent to the announcements of these changes, many of which are full feature requests. But suddenly there were those who missed everything and would like to speak out? We keep the rhythm and organize another straight line on the last Friday of the month. There is nothing to do on the street in Moscow, we checked. Therefore, let's discuss all issues in a warm company.

As always, you can ask a question to any employee from the list:

    baragol - chief editor of
boomburum - head of the department forfight against user
    relations buxley - technical director
    daleraliyorov - manager of Habra
    illo - art director of
karaboz - chief for My Circle
    nomad_77 - main for Toaster
    pas - system administrator
    salenda - main for Freelansim
soboleva - main for work with clients

But in addition to questions, we ourselves want to raise a couple of topics for discussion.

    Interrogation

In us, the desire to make Habr is even better, and for this we need not only digits from analytics, but also lively opinions of the collective mind. Therefore, we did a fairly large survey in which we ask a lot of questions about how you use Habr. If you try, you can keep within 10-15 minutes:

    Donation

Despite the fact that the word “donat” is firmly embedded in the modern language of communication, we still prefer the word encouragement. The same abbreviation PAP stands for the Program of Encouragement of Authors - on behalf of the company we financially encourage authors for publications that have gained high rates in the opinion of users. And they thought: why not add an alternative in the form of user promotion? Moreover, you yourself have repeatedly asked us about this.

The concept of the idea looks like this: the user in the account settings indicates his details, these details are attached to the donation button in the author’s block under the publication.

Overseas donations to companies and individuals - a thing very popular and often profitable. Some publications are more valuable than books - if you have met one, then why not treat the author with money? After all, you pay for a book or magazine, as well as for admission to the conference. Of course, we are realists and are not sure that this button will be in great demand with us, but why not? Superficially, everyone in the company likes the idea, it seems not very difficult to do, but maybe there are some pitfalls? Describe in the comments (or in PM) how you see this mechanism and how it can be improved.

    Great weekend to everyone!
