Aggravation at conspiracy theorists - saw a laptop on an ancient Greek monument

Proponents of the conspiracy theory of time travel are confident that someday in the future, physics will reach such a level that it will find a way to travel in time. And this means that the time machine exists now - it can appear at any time.

This weekend, conspiracy theorists received another confirmation of their theory. They began to circulate in their circles photographs of an ancient Greek tombstone depicting a woman with a device similar to a laptop. Presumably, the “laptop” was used by the Delphic oracle of Pythia , when it issued accurate forecasts to temple visitors, for this it was necessary to process large amounts of data on a computer.

The tombstone itself dates from 100 g BC, exhibitkept at the Getty Museum in California (USA).

Of course, a normal person does not need to explain that this is neither a laptop nor Pythia, but to prove this, of course, is impossible.

The relief on a funerary stone 94 cm high and 120 cm wide depicts a rich woman reclining in an armchair, with gold bracelets on her wrists and shoulders, which reaches out with her hand to a certain object held by a servant. “The image of the deceased, which reaches for the object brought up by the servant, has a long history in Greek burial art and probably indicates the hope of continuing earthly pleasures in the afterlife,” the museum’s description of the exhibit says.

Conspirologists are sure that the item is too wide and narrow for a jewelry box.

“Such statements are ridiculous because it’s clearly a box,” comments American archaeologist Dorothy Lobel for the Discovery Channel .

Another famous archaeologist, Janet Burnett Grossman, suggested that it was a flat box or a mirror.

There are versions that this is a wax tablet on which in those days official documents, such as birth certificates , were recorded .

Usually men wrote on wax tablets, and the item really looks like a small laptop, Forbes writes .

It was a purely masculine affair. But there is some evidence that the goddess of wisdom Athena worked with a wax tablet, so why not a rich woman to repeat the actions of the goddess?

However, the conspiracy theorists are not appeasing. They say that the openings on the side of the tablet are clearly visible on the sculpture - these are USB ports. On the other hand, professional archaeologists parry that holes are often found on ancient Greek sculptures - they were made to attach some element made of perishable material, for example, a wooden sword in the hand of a warrior. There could also be some kind of wooden case for a tablet or box.

Conspiracy therapists meanwhile say that this is not the first proof of a theory with a time machine. For example, in an ancient film with Charlie Chaplin, a man with a mobile phone accidentally fell into the frame.

Filming was carried out on the street, and the time traveler probably did not notice the movie camera.

Despite all these silly rumors, one can say thanks to the conspiracy theorists. Thanks to them, we have well studied a wonderful example of ancient Greek art.
