Royole-X - a folding personal cinema shown at CES

There are not many CES related posts at Geektimes right now, so it’s worth adding some information about interesting gadgets from the exhibition. So, the other day a device was shown here, which can be called a folding personal cinema. The device is called Royole-X, and its feature, in addition to portability, is the presence of a built-in AMOLED display. Its thickness is only 0.01 mm.
According to the journalist who tested the “movie theater” in action, the experience of watching a video in a helmet is almost the same as the experience of watching a video on a 60-inch TV. The display has a 3300 PPI, contrast ratio of 10,000: 1 and 24-bit RGB. The display is quite clear, the helmet itself sits on my head like a glove. Unfortunately, people who wear glasses are forced to take them off before trying on a helmet. But the helmet allows you to adjust focus and other parameters. So problems should not arise.

Noise canceling headphones up to 22 dB. The journalist practically did not hear the noise of the crowd when the helmet was put on his head. The Royole-X is even equipped with its own 64 GB memory system. There is a WiFi module, HDMI and USB ports. This means that Royole-X can be used with a PC, smartphone or even a game console.
The estimated cost of the device after it enters the market is $ 699.
So far, Royole-X has not come out, you can try another type of video glasses. For example, Google Cardboard , as the most inexpensive option. A slightly more expensive (and better) system is YesVR .
Now the amount of content created for 3D glasses is growing. In addition to games, they already make films and various applications. There are also more devices like the portable cinema described above. So we are waiting for the emergence of a full-fledged virtual reality market - both content and gadgets.
