Samsung introduced an external SSD with Type-C interface and a capacity of 2 TB

Samsung introduced its first portable SSD, the Portable SSD T1, last year. Now the South Korean company has introduced a more capacious model that surpasses the previous version in several ways. At the same time, the Portable SSD T3 has much in common with its predecessor. For example, vertical NAND (V-NAND) memory is also used here, due to which read / write speeds reach 450 MB / s.

Despite the fact that the device is slightly larger than its predecessor, it can still be put in your pocket - there are no problems with portability. T3 will be available in several versions, with a capacity of 250 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB.

The drive is shockproof, there is support for both the USB 3.1 interface and Type-C (as well as USB 2.0). If necessary, you can encrypt your data, in the presence of hardware encryption AES 256-bit. There is even an Android application that allows you to change the access password on the fly, as well as see how much disk space is already taken. Next month, the disc will go on sale in the United States, Europe, China and Korea.

The drive itself is unlikely to be cheap. For example, the previous 1 TB T1 model cost $ 600 at launch. For a slightly larger amount ($ 800), you can purchase the SanDisk 2TB SSD . This model is slightly larger in size, but it boasts twice the speed of reading / writing data.

In general, if there is extra money and the need for a convenient file storage - this portable SSD is what you need.
