[Guide] HyperX Impact memory rulers - mobile - doesn't mean slow

Hello Giktayms! Two previous posts in the HyperX RAM series talked about the DDR3 and DDR4 ranges. In the HyperX assortment there is another special series of products - Impact, SO-DIMM format memory. Such memory is installed in compact devices: laptops and all-in-ones. Under the cut - more details about a small but fast RAM for gaming devices.

    HyperX Impact DDR3

The most common standard for RAM dominates the market for mobile solutions. However, to unleash the potential of gaming laptops, it is worth considering a higher-frequency memory than the usual default SO-DIMM DDR3-1333. The third and fourth generation of mobile processors work perfectly with modules with a frequency of 1866 MHz.

Maximum Frequency for HyperX Impact DDR3- 2133 MHz for a set of two modules. The maximum volume of the kit is 16 gigabytes (two modules of 8 gigabytes each with a frequency of 2133 MHz). Only dual-channel kits are presented in the line and they are optimized for working with Intel mobile platforms with a voltage of up to 1.35 V. The XMP profile stitched into the modules makes it possible not only to increase the frequency, but also to work with lower timings, for example CL9 at a frequency of 1600 MHz .

What are the advantages of HyperX Impact modules - reduced timings at higher frequencies, optimized XMP profile settings and compatibility with Intel mobile platforms. In addition, the logo sticker is not just for beauty, but carries the functions of a radiator. The thing is. that it is made of metallized material that improves heat removal from the memory chips.

    HyperX Impact DDR4

HyperX Impact DDR4 is a high-end product line featuring dual-channel kits for sixth generation mobile Intel Core with a capacity of up to 16 gigabytes (2 slots of 8 gigabytes). The maximum frequency of the modules is 2400 MHz (even for maximum capacity kits). I’ll separately remind you that there is a class of devices - gaming all-in-ones, in which the new Skylake platform will be in demand and modules of the standard SO-DIMM DDR4 are also used there.

HyperX Impact DDR4 is suitable for upgrading memory in gaming systems using sixth-generation Intel Core processors, such as ASUS ROG or MSI GT, they have a reduced 1.2V supply voltage to improve the temperature regime in an already hot notebook or all-in-one case. The inevitable development of the gaming mobile devices segment will only increase the demand for such modules.

It is important to remember that a user who needs advice can always turn to the Kingston support line and ask his questions. Independent users can choose the appropriate memory modules through the configurator on the Kingston website.
