Smart mirror with informer

Canadian Android developer Anna Mittelstaedt (Hannah Mittelstaedt), like any woman, spends a lot of time in front of a mirror. And once a thought came to her bright head: it would be nice to see time, current weather, stock prices, reminders of birthdays and other events from the calendar during makeup on the mirror.
No sooner said than done. So the HomeMirror project appeared , which is now published on Github.
The program displays the following information:
- Date, time, weather
- DR Messages
- Reminder of homework (pictured is a reminder to water the flowers)
- Weather recommendations for cyclists
- Stock price changes
- Fresh comic book XKCD
Data is obtained through the programming interfaces of Yahoo Finance, Forecast.io and XKCD.

How to make a smart mirror?
1. Find a device running Android: for example, an unnecessary tablet.
2. Find a double-sided mirror (Gesell mirror or mirror-window) that reflects light on one side and transmits light on the other side. These are installed, for example, in interrogation rooms.
3. Get a good double-sided tape like this . It is used to mount the mirror on the wall to the device, and to mount the device to the wall.
4. Attach the black backdrop. It needs to be cut along the contour to the size of the mirror, and then make a hole to fit the device. For example, in the upper right corner.

Glue the back to the mirror very carefully, this is the hardest part.
5. Attach the device to the mirror.
6. Find a power outlet. It might be best to buy a long USB cable.

Done. The mirror simultaneously shows reflection and transmits light from the tablet screen.
