Apple Wireless Keyboard - Insanely Gorgeous Life Hack

I hope our story will help all desperate owners of Apple wireless keyboards.

It was like this: the keyboard (photo above), by the will of fate, lay for about 1.5 years in a package with batteries inside. And, of course, the batteries took and filled the battery cover with electrolyte, tightly chained to the keyboard case. Neither a 10 ruble coin, nor a screwdriver could open the lid:

Having a little sadness, it was decided to drill a deeper groove so that the lid could be opened with a large flat screwdriver:

But it was not there: the wild alloy from which the lid was made broke two drills and didn’t drill at all. After reading about the general grief on the forums, it was decided to fill the battery compartment cover with the well-known WD40. The keyboard was wrapped with masking tape like a mummy:

But the WD-40 gave almost no effect ... yes there: no effect. Then there was an attempt to take the lid on the Makita puncher:

Which also did not lead to any results:

Having studied the topic in more detail, reinforced drills for steel were purchased. Bosch was chosen as a vehicle:

The process began to move slowly:

When one drill went safely to the forefathers, the lid succumbed:

But what to do next was not clear: trying to expand the "hole" the second drill broke, and the screwdriver never crawled ... It was decided that a hacksaw would promptly intervene (the metal of the keyboard case remarkably sawn):

Next, we gently pushed off the sawed area and saw the thread filled with electrolyte and the entire battery compartment:

It would seem that everything was done , the quest was over, but the batteries were not in a hurry to be pulled out, I had to screw them ( may Tim Cook forgive us) self-tapping screw:

It all looked very nice:

No matter how close the clue to the electrolyte was, the battery wasn’t pulled out. I had to continue the intervention with a hacksaw:

At the most interesting place, the hacksaw blade played into the drawer and had to

be finished manually: When everything was finished, the hacksaw blade already consisted of 4 parts:

And here it is - a momentous moment for the first battery to exit: The batteries

came out, leaving an eerie sight:

Now the solemn moment: we are trying revive the apple friend:

But, alas, nothing happened. Sadness, disappointment, fatigue - these and many other feelings were in the air at that moment. It was decided to leave the attempt to restore and send the keyboard to the forefathers the next day. But the next day, other batteries appeared in the office:

Pay attention to the ergonomics of fixing the batteries of the new keyboard:

And ... oh, Miracle!

It all worked. Moral: do not leave the batteries in the keyboard for a long time, but if left, then all is not lost.

PS By the way, we typed this article from this keyboard.
