The future of the new Silent Hills is in doubt

To create a model of the protagonist of the game, the appearance of actor Norman Reedus was used .
In March, a rumor spread through the network: the legendary game designer Hideo Kojima left Konami Studios . Kojima is one of the fathers of the Stealth-action game genre , implying secretive actions of the player, instead of open clashes with the enemy, and Hideo earned his fame thanks to his work on the Metal Gear franchise . Kojima was responsible for the development of the new Silent Hills , a classic survival-horror for which stealth is an integral part of the gameplay. The project was developed in conjunction with the director Guillermo del Toro, recognized master of the genres of "horror" and "thriller" in the cinema. After the dismissal of the lead game designer, the development of the project was frozen, or even completely canceled, which is reported on the game’s page in wikipedia . Konami does not comment on this situation and does not provide information regarding the fate of Silent Hills.
The first alarm bells appeared after the publication of a message on the Japanese site Konami that the game teaser for the game on the Playstation Store expires on April 29, 2015. This “teaser” was, in fact, an interactive demonstration, with the help of which they secretly announced the new Silent Hills back in August 2014. Perhaps, according to Konami, he has already lost his advertising effectiveness, but such an inconspicuous warning about the removal of free content looks a little strange only if Konami does not completely stop the advertising campaign.
The bad news did not end there. According to some reports on Twitter , del Toro at the San Francisco International Film Festival said that "there will be no collaboration on this project." For his part, Norman Reedus tweetedthat after he found out about the words of del Toro, he had a "sickly bomb" and he "hopes to continue working."
It is possible that Reedus does not have insider information and relies on publicly available information on the network. The IGN website cites an anonymous source that del Toro meant only his participation in the project, and not the cessation of work on the game in general. “In order to get information about the future of the game, you should contact Konami,” the same source said. So far, the press has not been able to get any official comments from the studio or representatives of del Toro.
Polygon , on the other hand, talks about its own insideraccording to which "the project is rapidly collapsing." Only developers of the game who so far remain silent inherent in all Japanese companies can shed light on this situation. In this situation, franchise fans can only follow the news and hope that the dismissal of Hideo Kojima did not affect Konami's decision to release a new part of the legendary Silent Hill game series.
