What a startup is terrible
Excessive enthusiasm for startups in our country, in my opinion, is a rather unhealthy thing, but you can understand this only once having experienced this hobby. The problem here is not in the very idea of a fast-growing business, which seems very interesting to me, but in its hopeless perversion in the mass consciousness.
Now the word “startup” for most people has come to mean something completely different from what it used to mean, and it has given incredible scope for speculation, ordinary illiteracy and, most unpleasantly, has given rise to a strange dream that you can create something completely incredible, scalable and multiply growing - on the knee for a couple of months, not having the necessary knowledge and experience. If you think about it, this dream, in itself, is pretty idiotic. After all, no one has a desire to arrange a concert in the large hall of the conservatory, not knowing how to play any musical instrument. And at the same time it’s even more stupid to think that you will learn this during the concert. Of course, nothing is impossible, but you can only imagine how much you have to torment your viewers.

Everyone who wants to create their own “startup” should remember that this is a business developing in conditions of maximum uncertainty, and this will require a lot of knowledge, unconventional thinking and a very strong nervous system. By the way, if this is your first experience, then I can assume with a 95% probability that you will not succeed. Only a very enthusiastic person who is ready for financial, moral, and sometimes physical hardships in order to make the world a better place can successfully deal with such a thing.
And now I will allow myself to list three things for the sake of which you should not meddle in the startup industry - unfortunately, they are the main incentives for the vast majority of startupers.
You must have seen this endless advertisement calling for a change in your life - “get out of your comfort zone” and create your own fast-growing business.
No matter how bully it was, such an advertisement, however, it gave rise to a stable myth - in order to create something worthwhile, you need to “Exit the comfort zone”.

Are you guys serious? I saw in our country only a couple of people who were at least close to this concept, and believe me, none of them would ever leave this "zone". I am surprised that this bourgeois slogan works in our country, but it works, perhaps because many of us do not fully understand what comfort is.
Comfort - cosiness, convenience.
You are in a comfort zone if you are comfortable and comfortable at your work, everyone respects and loves you because you are a good professional, if you are comfortable and comfortable in your apartment, which is pleasant to return after a working day, you are cozy and comfortable with your girlfriend or wife who loves you, cozy and comfortable in the store because you can buy what you need, cozy and comfortable morally and physically and now and well ... ... If this is about you, then I doubt that you will want to leave this beautiful world. And if something is not comfortable for you, then you need to think about how to change this particular section of life and with the least loss.
A couple of months ago I wrote an article on GeekTimes about the so-called “Marketing of Dreams”, which talked about a fairly simple technique - how to use the substitution of concepts for advertising purposes. The same thing happens with the concept of “comfort zone”. This is not an existing, artificially invented concept that loses all advertising sense if you remove the word “come out” that stands before it. This abstract concept, invented for the purpose of science, is used today to sell training courses, and in this case it literally means the following: you feel bad, give us money and we will tell you how to become that cool guy who is drawn on our land. By the way, I have nothing against training courses when the game goes according to certain rules. I, as an honest marketer, pisses me off when they begin to use the technology of religious sects.
The girl left you, they pay little at work, the dog died ... you know what you need to do, boy? “Get out of your comfort zone”, quit your job, sell an apartment, a car or a kidney and finally stop living this fucking dull life - it's all in your hands, dude, give us money and we will show you how to create super-startups and multiply them in jar of cucumbers.
So if you ever want to “get out of your comfort zone” - just change jobs, a girl or a hand and continue to live on.
Myth number two - you must do business to be successful.

The word “business” in Russian does not exist!
It exists in English and looks like this - “business” and it means “Case” in Russian, and not what we used to understand by this word: “my name is Petya, I'm a digger, and digging the ground is my business. ”
If we substitute the English concept for the Russian word business, then everything falls into place and loses its sacred meaning - you must do business in order to be successful. And everyone has their own business - and this does not mean at all that in order to be successful, you definitely need to bumble something. More precisely, it’s not even like that - you don’t care, of course, you have to sell something - for example, your knowledge or the ability to handle a shovel, but you can sell what you know and know how to, what you can safely call your business.
At this point, half of the readers mentally said, “thank you cap, this is already so obvious.” Yes, but think about a simple logical idea - at least 70% of you have ever wanted or were engaged in “business” and this despite the fact that 80 percent of you have studied at the institute and have a profession that has nothing to do with selling goods or services of others people. So why do you have to do something completely unknown to you in which you have neither knowledge nor experience, if it is easier to achieve success in your field? This is my personal problem, I’m a theater director by training and I began to engage in “business” - in the end, I spent several years and an indecently large amount of money to get the necessary knowledge through trial and error, after all this, after going through fire, water and copper pipes, I can’t say that I would achieve less
So, dear future or real startups, I recommend with full right to it - get up one evening in the evening in front of the mirror, look at your physiognomy and ask yourself - is that what I’m doing and wasn’t I just a victim of fashion?
Myth number three - I need to do something innovative, which has no analogues in the world.

Dear my readers, this myth was born of a vice, which is described in the Bible and is called this vice - Pride. Ask every second beginner start-up why you need the crap he does, and he won’t be able to answer anything intelligible to you.
Most startups do not fly precisely because they do not solve any particular problem. In fact, striving for something new and not known - this is great, but not a single business will give you income if it does not bring enough benefit to be paid for. What do you think, how good it is to live in a city where everyone is engaged in high technology and there is not a single store or, for example, pharmacy.
Believe me, creating something simple and essential is not a shame, it's great!
And again, you thought “thank you cap” but ...
At least someone can explain to me why in a country where the startup industry is in full swing, Russian tomatoes in a store are twice as expensive as Moroccan oranges and no one has solved this problem yet?
