Nastuchi on a pirate and get a reward

    Nailing the boss

The BSA Software Giants Alliance, which is backed by Adobe, Apple and Microsoft, is in turn part of the International Intellectual Property Alliance . BSA is trying its best to protect copyright programs designed for business - in the first place, these are well-known office suites and applications. To do this, they conduct advertising campaigns of a different nature - sometimes very unconventional.

A few years ago they were marked by advertising, which was ambiguously perceived by the public. The slogan “Boss Nails” was posted on the picture with a tie nailed to the wall and a call to report on cases of pirated use of programs via a telephone hotline. Apparently, an employee of the company, having met with similar facts at his workplace, had to knock on his superiors in order to lose his job. Whether in this case compensation was paid for lost work is unknown.

Apparently, having understood the essence of the problem, the BSA worked a little on the advertising campaign and in 2014 came up with another proposal - to “plant the boss” already. The campaign, which was widely held on the pages of the social network Facebook, invited participants to pounce on pirates and get money. Moreover, according to all the laws of marketing in winter, they were seduced by a ski resort, and in the summer - paid vacation . True, the scammers could get money only after the BSA could win the case in court from the pirates and, in turn, receive monetary compensation. A tempting offer was valid in the United States, Australia, Canada and China. Depending on the judicial compensation received for the denunciations, they promised to give up to $ 200,000.

To the resort at someone else’s expense

And the campaign, according to the alliance, is very successful. On average, he receives about 30 leads per month. So now it was decided to build on the success of the new campaign on Facebook. This time the ad is addressed to users who are not very prudent about their expenses. “Can't pay the loan? - asks the text from the advertisement. Let us know about the company that uses unlicensed software, and you can get a reward. " As before, the gunner will receive compensation only after a successful trial, but this time its amount can reach one million dollars. The second advertising slogan from the same campaign offered to improve their financial situation to those users who spent during the holidays.

It is significant that instead of appealing to ethics and morality, BSA representatives simply invite people to substitute their neighbor for money. And at the same time it opens up another interesting scheme for unfair competition.
