Overview of Monoprice Sport earphones with earhook
Hi Geektimes!
In conclusion of the reviews with the line of the American company Monoprice, the distributors of which are our company SOUND4YOU, today I want to introduce you to the simple budget Monoprice Sport headphones that have a special behind-the-ear mount.
Headphones Monoprice Sport really disgracefully simple and at the same time chic, given their low cost, even with this exchange rate.
As you might have guessed, the headphones are designed exclusively for sports because of the special behind-the-ear mount. Personally, I have been looking for different solutions for sports for a very long time: mainly for running and cycling. It is clear that running around, and even more so riding a bicycle with on-ear headphones is somehow uncomfortable, to say the least. Therefore, you have to choose only from plug-ins. For a long time I had Shure on the foam, kept in my ear perfectly, but after some time practicing spot still fall out. Although it must be admitted, they drop an order of magnitude less than on silicone ear pads. But their main disadvantage was that if you have to take it off, for example, when skiing, putting them back on was terribly annoying.
After Shure significantly reduced their depreciation cost, I decided to switch to headphones with silicone ear cushions, realizing that I would have to experiment with different types of mounts.
My next sport headphones were Monster iSport Livestrong, which has an innovative petal mount that fits inside the ear. I admit, I bought a powerful PR brand Monster. As a result, the sound is normal, but this mount did not take root with me, and at the cost the headphones can not even be called medium-budget.
And so, when we started distributing Monoprice in Russia, I was looking forward to the first batch precisely because of the Monoprice Sport headphones.
Packing and equipment:
The Monoprice Sport headphones, as I wrote above, are ugly and inexpensive, which is why the box in which they are delivered is just as simple: mini dimensions 7x7x2 cm and thin cardboard.
In addition to the headphones themselves, there is nothing. It is strange why the manufacturer does not complete them with standard additional ear pads of two sizes.
Appearance and materials:
As I understand it, the developers had a simple task - to pack a good sound in a very lightweight case, so that they can run and jump. All elements of the case are plastic, even the front chrome “cover” of the case is an imitation of steel. Nozzle (duct) on which the ear cushion is held, cast with a body and covered with a protective grille.
The earhook is made of very soft plastic, so over time it adapts to the size of the user's ear. In cold weather, the earhook material will not freeze and dangle like a wooden ear.
I also liked the cord, which is also covered with an unusually soft rubberized braid. Perhaps this is also due to the fact that the cord does not harden in cold weather. Attention! I did not experience it in severe frost. The cable, although round, but it does not get tangled at all, I do not know why.
The plug is straight, it’s very convenient to pull a phone or player out of your pocket, especially when playing sports. It has a gold plating, which significantly increases corrosion resistance.

Sound:
The sound of Monoprice Sport headphones is quite powerful and clear due to 9 mm drivers. At this price, I don’t understand how this is achieved, although I’m already used to the sound that all Monoprice headphones are perfect. Great bass, unless of course the ear cushions fit snugly in the ear canal. The headphones are loud, still 100 dB.
The manufacturer set the resistance to 16 ohms, if you do not go into radio technology, then we can say the following: the lower the resistance, the less powerful the source is for the headphones and the greater the influence of the source on the sound. In other words, a little resistance indicates that the developers made headphones specifically for small players and phones.
The frequency range here is somewhat reduced - 20Hz-16000 Hz with an output power of 10mW.
Price and warranty period:
You can always find out by availability and buy Monoprice Sport earphones with behind-the-ear earphones on our website at the SOUND4YOU Mobile Sound Store or at our partners on Yandex.Market .

Conclusions:
Monoprice Sport Headphones are really a very good solution for those who prefer music when playing sports. The behind-the-ear mount is very simple and yet reliable, the sound is excellent, as with all other Monoprice headphones.

Perhaps the only negative for me was the fact that the kit does not have additional, replaceable silicone ear pads. And which on the headphones themselves constantly fell out of the ear: either the size did not fit, or silicone of lower quality. The issue was finally resolved by replacing the ear pads from any other Monoprice in-ear headphones and more.
