As part of the annual expedition to the ISS will conduct 19 medical and biological experiments

Russian astronauts will not only polish the ISS portholes from the outside , but will also conduct fourteen experiments in medicine and biology, TASS reports . The total number of experiments of the next crew will be 19, some of which American and Russian experts will conduct together.

The flight of the astronauts will last a year - from March 27, 2015 to March 3, 2016. Before the rest, Gennady Padalka will return to Earth, he will spend six months at the station, after which he will become a champion in the total time spent in space - more than 900 days.

imageDuring the flight, Kornienko will conduct 14 Russian experiments on space medicine and physiology, RSC Energia reports . The astronauts will determine the mechanisms of bone loss , get information about the role of the right and left parts of the heart in adapting to long-term flight conditions in space, and study the effect of stressors on immunity .

Kornienko and Kelly will jointly conduct the experiment "Moving fluids", the purpose of which is to study "the mechanisms of regulation of the distribution of liquid media in the body and their influence on changes in intracranial pressure and the functions of the visual analyzer under conditions of a long space flight and single-wall radiation therapy". Mikhail Kornienko will help American colleagues perform five experiments, and Scott Kelly will join the astronaut in two Russian ones.
