First of all, we recall that each law in the course of its development is accompanied by a rationale indicating the costs of implementing the law. The relevant rationale for law 374-FZ stated that it does not require budget funding. Even then, it caused healthy skepticism, since any actions assigned to any organ require funding - in particular, in connection with the need for off-site events, daily monitoring and so on and so forth. Due to the fact that the public initiative No. 36F28432 on the repeal of the Yarovaya law gained the required number of votes, an expert opinion was prepared in accordance with the rules for considering public initiatives, in the framework of which various departments spoke out . Including Roskomnadzor.
Roskomnadzor is an organization that is often criticized. But it was she who announced the figures for the costs of implementing the law. And it’s nice.
At the beginning of its response, Roskomnadzor indicates that despite the existing requirements of the law, it does not have the authority to exercise appropriate control (the response contains a list of laws that need to be amended). That is, at the moment there are no necessary legal acts for ministries and departments that must ensure the implementation of the law.
Further, the response indicates the number of telecom operators subject to the law and related checks.
The annex to the answer specifies the number of data centers.

That is, the equipment that will have to be installed by telecom operators will have to implement not only information storage functions, but also periodic monitoring functions with the transmission of information on compliance or non-compliance by telecommunication operators with the requirements of the law.
