“How much in the clouds” - a review of prices in the Ukrainian cloud market

Recently I decided to change my work, and at the same time - the direction of activity / development. Having succumbed to the fashionable trend - he left for IT, got a job in a company engaged in cloud technologies. And since the direction for me is completely new - I emphasized RTFM and began to intensively learn the materiel. In the process - I wanted to clarify the place of the company under the sun of the local market. While doing this, a little material has accumulated, which I tried to systematize and put together. It turned out, like, a good thing. Well, and since mom taught to share - then here's a yummy one, use it, whoever wants it. (The summary plate is at the end of the text).

1.Microsoft Azure: 200, 77 € / month, the client will pay for 4 cores, 7 (seven) Gb RAM, 120 Gb of disk for a standard configuration. The site stated that high-speed and resource-intensive configurations are based on Intel Xeon E5 processors. For high-performance clusters, they offer cores - a pure emerald of Intel Xeon E5-2673 v3 (Haswell) processors with a frequency of 2.4 GHz, 12 cores and 30 Mb of cache third level.

For comparison: we have a base XEON E5-2650v3 2,3, 10 cores and 25 cache.
A request of 4 cores, 7 (seven), 120 disk, we will cost 99 € / month (SDD). Which, with relatively the same capacities (after all, the E5-2673 they have in a much more expensive configuration) gives a saving of 101.77 €.

2.Amazon Web Services From the start, they offer an annual free cloud trial. Almost all buttons are tied to creating a free account. The main anti- “bun” is a userhating calculator. The attempt to calculate the cost of using the cloud, according to the sensations, was similar to the attempt to establish a close and gentle acquaintance with the slide rule. I’m even afraid to imagine what their cloud management interface is. In general, having suffered for an hour, I reached the following numbers:

1 instance with 1 IP for 4 cores and 16 Gb (RAM?) Will cost 159.72 € / month. The price does not include the date of transfer, storage and other ELB.
In short - it seems that they want to play a fool, lure, and then abuse))

A few figures from us: 4 cores + 16 = 96 € / month + a constant opportunity to seek help from a consultant. An enormous plus in comparison with.

    3. IBM. Fast support in German / English, there is a website in Ukrainian, everything is simple and beautiful. True, there is a slight cognitive dissonance when you see the service “Counseling with an expert on a hat to cognitive business”. There is generally a lot about cognitive business, which is strange.

At prices: 4 cores for 8 with 100 places, 136.45 € / month comes out.

For comparison: with us it will cost 98 €, which, out of the blue, gives a savings of 1073 UAH / month. ().

    4. Croc. Russian company. One of the few who really has a proven Tier III Gold, and even Operation Sustainability.

The cost of 4vCPU, 8Gb RAM, 120Gb SATA is 9 487.20 rubles / month, which is 137.1 € / month. Everything is fine, but we still have 90 € / month, which is 34.35% of the difference.

    5. De Novo. Reliability level Tier TIA 942 (!).
Calculator 4 cores 16 Gb RAM and 100 Gb SATA they will cost ~ 129.53 € / month.
As will be seen later, compared with our 98 € / month (for SSD), this gap is very small, only 24.35%.

    6. HostPro. They sell processor time instead of cores and recommend taking servers instead of clouds.
The cost of 4 cores 8 Gb RAM and 100 Gb SSD they have 172.75 € / month.
With our 98 € / month. at the same power the difference is ~ 43.27%.

    7. Tucha.ua. If you believe what is written on the site - DC in Frankfurt, Tier III, etc.
Price op. will cost 2 €, against our 1,54 €.

    8. Ucloud.ua, promoted by Microsoft 365, specialize in 1C.
They have 2 cores, 8, 150 will cost 4500 UAH / month, i.e. 161.2 €. With us it will cost 51 €. This is 111 € difference. Yes, they give 40 for the database, daily backup and storage of 14 copies of it, but such a huge difference (78.34%) still baffles me.

    9. VoliaCLOUD. “I have developed business in the corporate server data center, it was designed with the standard TIA-942 standard for Tier III class.” It’s strange for a national operator to see such a standard, but it’s good that they even said such a standard.

They sell gigahertz of virtual cores, not the cores themselves. 10 (~ 4 cores), 16 and 100 will cost 4440 UAH. For comparison: At us the same will cost 2744 UAH / month. That is 38.2% more economical.

    10. Cosmonova. There is a difference in location in Ukraine (declare 1 core = 3.3 Ghz) and Europe (1 core = 2.8 Ghz). I suspect that they indicated the turbo mode, radishes))
For the SSD configuration in 4 cores, 8 Gb RAM and 120 places they requested 200 (two hundred) € / month.
With our 100 € / month and processors with 3.0 GHz in turbo mode, this is exactly 50% of the difference.

    11. Lattlelecom. Less than a month ago, they began cooperation with Ukrtelecom. He began to sell their cloud.
If we take directly from them, then they will cost 4 CPU / 16 RAM / 100 SSDs 130.76 euros, which, compared to our 108.40 €, is still more expensive, and this does not include payment for the same virtual router that we have It is given generally free of charge (I checked).

    12. Rackray. The exact opposite of Ucoud. If they were surprised by the high cost, then these - by an incomprehensible cheapness. Even writing them in addition, he received the answer that: “a virtual server in the cloud costs 43.60 Euro per month. The server connects to a 10 Mbps channel (100 Mbps port) without traffic. The price was indicated for 4 cores 8 Gb RAM and 120 Gb on SAS disks. The cloud is built on the latest generation HP G9 and E5-2630 v4 (2.2 GHz, 10 Core) processors. ”

I would venture an incorrect comparison, but we have the same characteristics on SSDs coming out at 100 € / month. How to explain the 5-fold (!) Difference with Microsoft - I do not know, but I can not refute it either.

    13. Gigacloud. The main site is not yet available. Their DCs work under the same Tier TIA 942 standard. A bit

boring 4 CPU / 8 RAM / 120 HDD will cost 2300 UAH, and a virtual router, IP address, Internet 100/10 - another 275 UAH. They offer it all with VAT, because the total amount will be 3090 UAH, or 109.22 € / month. Having checked the cost of the same resources with us, we get 90.40 € / month.
