    MTS launches the MTS TV service for Smart TV users in early August. By the end of the year, the operator plans to conclude an agreement with all manufacturers of smart TVs, including Samsung, Philips, Panasonic, Sony and others, said Dmitry Solodovnikov, the operator’s representative. The service will make it possible to play TV content simultaneously on a smartphone, tablet, TV or computer.

    The MTS TV service will cost customers 15 rubles per day (450 rubles per month). For this amount, users will have access to 130 channels and 100 feature films by Miramax and the BBC series. In addition, a subscription will be sold for the "Cartoon" packages (6 rubles per day), "Entertainment" (6 rubles per day) and the so-called adult package (10 rubles per day).

    MTS TV will be available to customers of any providers - they will not need to lay a separate cable for TV, buy or rent a TV box, sign a separate contract with MTS, Solodovnikov emphasized.

    The developer of the MTS TV service was the leader in the mobile television market in the CIS - SPB TV . A source close to MTS said that the operator did not invest in application development, but would share revenue with a partner of about 50 by 50.

    In the spring of this year, MegaFon’s subsidiary NetByNet launched its wireless digital television service and WiFire TV set-top boxfor Samsung and LG Smart TV devices. The cost of the service is from 1 ruble per day (from 30 rubles per month) depending on the number of available channels, said the spokeswoman for the operator Aliya Beketova.

    Beeline TV is available in test mode on Samsung TVs, Anna Aibasheva, representative of VimpelCom , told RBC . According to her, the application is now used by about 40 thousand customers. “By the end of the year, we will present an updated application with advanced features that will be available not only for Beeline subscribers,” she said.

    The cost of a similar service of the Nemo TV company is 250 rubles per month. It has more than 800 thousand users in 12 countries.

    Internet services launched by telecom operators may appeal to those customers who for some reason do not have cable television or are not satisfied with their current TV provider, Dmitry Kolesov, director of the TV and content department of J'son & Partners Consulting , told RBC.

    According to forecasts by J'son & Partners Consulting, the number of Smart TV in Russia in 2015 will increase by 35% and reach 13.6 million devices. In 2014, the number of smart TVs was 10.2 million. According to Kolesov, LG and Samsung devices occupy more than 50% of the Smart TV market in Russia.
