Uruguay: each student with a laptop

Uruguay is the first country to provide a laptop to every student. Over the past two years, 362,000 students and 18,000 teachers have been involved in this program. However, this is only part of the OLPC system in which the cost of a laptop is $ 100. Linux is installed on laptops with the Suar user interface.
The cost of maintenance was $ 260 per child, including maintenance, repair, training and the Internet. This amounted to slightly less than 5% of the education budget.
Interestingly, what about our children?

Uruguay is in 36th place in terms of quality of life, Russia - in 57th, Ukraine - in 68th, Uzbekistan - in 80th, Moldova - in 83rd (together with Honduras). Data for 2008
