HTML5 Video and Audio support in the new Vivaldi 1.0.300.5 browser build
Hello!
Today's assembly is in some ways special. But not because of the build number, which has exceeded 300, but for a completely different reason. In particular, the long-awaited support for proprietary HTML5 MP4 (H.264 / MPEG-4AVC & AAC) Video and MP3 Audio codecs has finally appeared in this version of the browser. This will solve a lot of problems when working with websites and services that actively use these technologies. Now more about that below.
HTML5 Video and Audio Support
From now on, the Vivaldi browser supports a wide range of media formats. Thus, if you previously experienced some difficulties when working with websites and services that are rich in media content, now these problems should not be. If you still encounter any difficulties, let us know so that we can fix them before the beta version is released, which is very, very soon.
Support for media formats in Vivaldi was tested in the latest versions of Windows and MacOSX, so in earlier versions of these operating systems some difficulties may occur due to the lack of some important components. Ubuntu Linux users need to install the chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra libraryand reboot the system so that Vivaldi can use the new features. For users of other distributions, we have prepared small instructions , following which you can use the new features of Vivaldi.
That's all for today. You can download the new assembly using the links below:

We remind you that the weekly builds are test, so do not forget to back up important data. Report errors found at the previous address .
