At Foresight Fleet 2015, several interesting projects in the field of security were announced, which were subsequently combined into one large area - SafeCityNET. The main idea of ​​the direction is the implementation of a set of measures in a limited territory (city) that will open up new markets for security entrepreneurs in the future and give them the opportunity to sell their services and products according to the uber model principle . In this article, I would like to briefly consider 3 key concepts that, in my opinion, form SafeCityNET:

  2. Service platform
  3. Security Services Market

Next, we consider in more detail each of the concepts.

Smart City Infrastructure

Already today many large world cities are developing according to the principle of “ smart city ”, in which the ICT component plays a rather important role. From a practical point of view, this means that in the future cities will be a network of various sensors and sensors, which in real time collect information about what is happening around and transmit it to a data center (DPC) for subsequent analysis and storage. At the same time, information from open sources can be supplied to the same data center, for example, medical-statistical information about the state of public health from medical institutions, statistics and analytics from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, statisticson fire safety and other open (non-personal data) information from various federal and municipal authorities.

Service platform

Just collecting data from the “smart city” is not enough. It is very important that the huge stream of poorly structured and heterogeneous information is correctly processed so that in the future the data turns into useful information with which you can conduct research and do quality analytics. To do this, there are a large number of different ways of processing data that can be arbitrarily combined into one term BigData. In fact, the service platform is a data center with powerful servers and a team of development analysts who create software for “digesting” data from the “smart city” into understandable and accessible information that can later be used to ensure security in a given area.

So, we have collected and ready to use information about the "state" of the city in real time. What can be done with it from a security point of view? In our SafeNET group, the project “Security Navigator” was announced, the essence of which is as follows. Suppose your child returns home from school every day on a pre-planned route. For some reason (staying away), the child has to go along a completely different route, and even in the dark. Usually in this situation, parents try to accompany their children to eliminate the likelihood of any threats to the child, but having the “safety navigator” application installed on your phone, you can order the “safe route” service for your child through it. You enter data about your child (position, profile in social networks), security options that you would like to receive (protection from beatings, accidents, theft, etc.) and the service automatically paves a safe route to your home, which guarantees 96% security in accordance with the specified parameters, at the same time invoicing you for payment . And in those fractions of a second, while the route is being laid, the service carries out the following actions:

  1. Turns to the service platform and requests the necessary data;
  2. Analyzes them and calculates the probabilities of certain threats along the route;
  3. Calculates the most secure route;
  4. If necessary, performs active actions to ensure safety on the route (sends a drone or task force);
  5. Provides a route to the end user with his recommendations;
  6. It monitors the client along the entire route and evaluates the probabilistic picture of threats in real time using data from the service platform.

As a result, the end user receives a safe route and security guarantees from the company of the service provider.

This example is a special case of using a service platform to implement one specific service. In the future, there may be dozens and hundreds of such services, depending on requests from society and the interpretation of the concept of “security” itself, which will obviously change over time. Thus, the service platform becomes a kind of infrastructural unit, allowing on its basis to create new markets for security services that will be in demand in the near future.
